Who is Sarah Webster?
Sarah Webster is an ultrarunner and vet from East Sussex. In October 2025, in only her second 24-hour race, she won the IAU 24-Hour World Championships in Albi, France, running 278km (173 miles). That was further than any woman in history, and broke the world record by 8km. Athletics Weekly called it one of the outstanding ultra performances by a British athlete.
Eight months later, on 13 June 2026, she won the South Downs Way 100. She beat the course record by two hours and set the fastest women’s 100-mile trail time in British history.
She trains locally and fits the miles around her work as a vet.
