RunFest T&Cs

Important information about RunFest 2026 (26–28 June)

RunFest is a friendly, community-focused event. Although the weekend will be very relaxed, informal, and inclusive, we do need to set out some ground rules, which you’ll find here.

Terms and conditions

All RunFest tickets are subject to these terms, and purchase of a ticket covers everyone a ticket is purchased for. We may alter these terms at any time by publishing revised terms on our website.

You agree to comply with any requirements announced at the events, posted on our website, or sent by email, which also form part of these terms. We reserve the right to ask anyone who breaches these terms to leave RunFest without a refund.

Tickets and wristbands

On arrival, we'll issue you with a wristband which will act as your ticket throughout the event. You will need it to join the activities, classes and talks. If it's lost or damaged, please collect a replacement from the event team.

Before you arrive, we'll ask you to provide a few additional details, including an emergency contact. Please do this in advance, as we'll need it before we can issue your wristband.

Children and dogs

Younger runners aged 12–17 are welcome to take part in many activities at RunFest, and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult at all times. Check the schedule for the most suitable events, and feel free to get in touch if you'd like advice.

Proof of age may be required when purchasing alcohol at the event.

Dogs are welcome at certain events, as long as they're on leads and well-behaved. They won't be able to join you in spaces where we're running strength, fitness, or yoga classes. Please think about which activities you're planning before deciding whether to bring your dog, and get in touch if you're unsure.

Your health and wellbeing

We'll carry out risk assessments of all running routes and physical activities, and will monitor weather and conditions throughout the weekend, adjusting the schedule if necessary.

Some activities — including trail runs — may be on uneven or challenging ground. Others, such as strength classes, may involve fitness equipment. All physical activities will be led by qualified people who can advise you on the level of challenge involved, and first aiders will be present during the times when physical activities are taking place.

Please bring appropriate clothing and equipment for the activities you're joining and the conditions you might encounter. This may include trail shoes, a running rucksack, weather-appropriate clothing, water, food, medication (such as an inhaler), and a mobile phone.

If you have any access requirements, please contact us at sussexrunfest@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help.

By registering for RunFest, you confirm that you are in good health and consider yourself fit to participate in the activities you intend to join. If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns, please speak to your GP before attending and inform your activity leader on the day.

By accepting these terms, you acknowledge that running and fitness activities carry inherent physical risks. You agree that RunFest, its organisers and volunteers are not liable for any injury, illness, or loss arising from your participation, except where directly caused by our own negligence.

Runs, classes, events, and experiences

Some activities have maximum capacities — to make sure leaders can give everyone proper support and keep things safe. For these, a booking system will be in place and we'll clearly identify which events need to be booked. We'll also plan repeated or similar activities so everyone gets a good range of experiences. Please cancel any bookings you can't make so someone else can take your place.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before any activity you're joining. To keep things running on time, we may not be able to wait for late arrivals.

Changes to the schedule

We'll make every effort to deliver the full advertised programme, but please be aware that changes may be necessary, including for reasons outside our control. Tickets cover the event as a whole, not any specific activity, and published timings are a guide — things may run a little late.

We'll do our best to communicate any changes by updating the online schedule. Please check the RunFest website for the latest information before and during the event.

We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or alter RunFest or any individual activity if we consider there is a serious risk to the health or wellbeing of participants due to extreme bad weather or other reasons outside our control.

General rules

We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask guests to leave for health and safety, licensing, or behavioural reasons.

Please follow instructions from our team and marshals, and observe the safety guidance and rules that apply in each venue.

You are responsible for your own personal items and equipment during RunFest. We'll do our best to provide storage, but this won't be secure, and we can't accept responsibility for loss or damage.

If you have an issue before or during the event, please speak to the RunFest team as soon as possible — problems are much harder to resolve after the event.

Photography and filming

During RunFest, we and others may be taking photos and videos. By attending, you agree that this material may be used online, in promotional materials, or in any other medium.

Refunds

We're not generally able to offer refunds if you can no longer attend, as most of RunFest’s costs are fixed. However, if you have exceptional personal circumstances, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.

If we have to cancel or postpone RunFest entirely, you'll be entitled to a full refund of your ticket price (though we're unable to reimburse personal costs such as travel).

Transfers

If you are unable to attend RunFest, you are free to transfer your ticket to someone else by contacting us with their details.
