James Cooper

James Cooper, the "smilinggg man," is more than just an ultra-endurance athlete. He is a dedicated mental health advocate who uses his incredible physical feats and his inspiring message of the Smilinggg daily practice to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

His story, including completing a marathon every day in 2024, is a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the importance of prioritising our mental well-being.

Charlotte Ricca

Charlotte is a performance psychologist and founder of Kinda Brilliant Psychology, offering powerful, practical mental strategies to help runners reach their full potential.

Whether you're just starting out, training for an event, or competing at an elite level, Charlotte can help you embrace pressure, overcome self-doubt and build the mental resilience you need to train and run at your best.

Ben Short

Ben Short is an experienced coach with experience at Olympic Training facilities, researching health and fitness topics as an Exercise Physiologist for Bupa with experience in writing monthly health articles for the Surrey Life. He brings high energy encouragement, drive, passion and precise expertise to your training set up.

Ben is also a former Mid Sussex Marathon winner, a 2:27 marathon athlete, a ⁠European record-breaking coach, and a busy working family man!

Jake Berney

Jake is a former elite athlete with a Masters in Strength & Conditioning and a passion for helping people to achieve their health and fitness goals.

He is an expert personal trainer and coach who has previously worked with professional sports teams and athletes in rugby, football and athletics. This unique experience has allowed Jake to hone his skills as a trainer and provide a scientific underpinning to training that everyone can benefit from.

Additionally, he currently coaches at Madisons in Haywards Heath and online for the number #1 rated fitness app, FIIT. Jake believes in making fitness fun and accessible for everyone and loves being a part of other people’s journey.

Tammy Gee

Tammy is a Nutritional Therapist specialising in hormone health, particularly perimenopause and menopause. Her mission is to open up conversations and increase education around the powerful role of nutrition in supporting hormones and long-term health.

Diet and lifestyle play a crucial role in overall health at every life stage—not just for hormones, but for energy, mood, and vitality.

In her private clinic, Tammy offers functional hormone and gut microbiome testing with personalised health plans to help clients optimise wellbeing. She also works with businesses, delivering educational wellbeing programmes and consulting on HR strategies to support menopause and menstrual health in the workplace.

Kit Liu

Kit is an experienced sports therapist with over 20 years of hands-on practice working with athletes of all levels—including elite rugby players and marathon runners. With a BSc in Sports Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire and extensive qualifications in biomechanics, massage, rehabilitation, and injury prevention, Kit has delivered care across clinical, pitch-side, and educational settings both in the UK and Hong Kong.

Alongside his clinical work, Kit has lectured in sports and rehabilitation, provided treatment at major events like the London Marathon, and supported national teams with injury recovery and performance prep. With a deep understanding of how movement, fascia, and biomechanics intersect, Kit provides real-world advice that runners can put into action immediately.

Karl Bevan

Karl is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a background in both the NHS and private healthcare, including at Six Physio.

With experience across musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injuries, post surgical rehabilitation and persistent pain, Karl supports runners at every level – whether you're recovering from an injury, surgery, managing long-term pains, or training for your next event.

Karl's approach combines evidence-based physiotherapy with elements from his work as a Personal Trainer and Yoga Teacher. His goal is to help injured runners get back to doing what they love and become stronger, more balanced and resilient runners.

Karl is also a strong advocate for conditioning the body to enhance running performance and reduce the risk of injury.

Steph Parsons

Steph is an MSK NHS podiatrist and runner with extensive experience helping runners avoid and treat injury and navigate the complex world of technical running trainers.

The Movement

The Movement is a small, friendly yoga studio in the heart of Haywards Heath. Located right behind Cafe Nero, the studio offers classes for all levels and abilities (even complete beginners!), sliding scale pricing, and highly experienced teachers in a modern, welcoming space.

Emily Johnson

Founder of the Movement, Emily has been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching since 2014. She teaches yoga in an accessible, safe, fun way, focusing on helping people move with more ease and joy. She's passionate about using the breath as a tool to create change in the body and mind.

Kate Anderson

Kate worked for 15 years in corporate communications as a film producer, where she developed a daily yoga practice as a counter to the physical and mental demands of her job. After taking time off to have 3 children, she started teaching yoga in 2013. As a co-owner of The Movement, she teaches a wide variety of classes, including pregnancy yoga, yoga for runners, and restorative yoga.

Kat Finley

As a former solicitor working in a City law firm as a real estate associate, Kat practiced yoga to help balance a busy urban life, and later, the demands of 3 kids and a (still) crazy family life. Kat now teaches yoga and co-owns The Movement, teaching in a supportive, welcoming way. She enjoys sharing the benefits of yoga as a way to bring calm to people's busy lives and minds.

Helen Davies-Pye

Helen is a certified Hatha yoga teacher with a deep passion for mindful movement and holistic wellness. With a calm, grounded teaching style, Helen helps students build strength, flexibility, and inner balance—on and off the mat. A dedicated endurance runner who completed the 2025 London Marathon, Helen understands the physical demands of long-distance training and integrates this awareness into her teaching.

Keenly focused on injury prevention and recovery, Helen specialises in hatha and restorative yoga to support healing and promote long-term physical resilience. Her classes emphasise breathwork, gentle stretching, and deep relaxation to release tension, aid recovery and create space for the body to restore itself. Whether guiding a runner through recovery or helping students unwind from daily stress, Helen offers a nurturing, accessible approach that encourages mindful movement and sustainable well-being.

Graeme Weatherill

Graeme is a sports massage therapist and soft tissue specialist. Over the years, he's helped many runners and athletes overcome injury sustained through vigorous training.

At RunFest, Graeme will be providing pre-booked or walk-in relaxing and soothing massage treatments to soothe any pain. Sports massage is clinically proven to help ease tension by getting blood and oxygen flowing to the muscles, helping to speed up healing and prevent injuries.
